The College has
an established system to help students find the programme of
study best suited to their needs. When we receive an application
form we will send you relevant information and arrange a mutually
convenient time for a guidance interview.
The
interview is informal and during it we will discuss your needs
and give you information about the full range of provision on
offer. We will take the opportunity to find out more about you
such as hobbies, interests, skills etc.
You will also have the
chance to ask questions. The aim of this interview is to ensure
you get the right specialist advice and that you become aware
of all the options open to you.
Following
this interview you will receive a specialist interview, that
will be with a tutor from the area in which you hope to study.
The interview may be on the same day as the initial guidance
interview or may be at a later date. The tutor will explain
the courses in detail and assess your suitability for them.
At the end of the interview you may be given an offer to join
a suitable course. This offer may be conditional upon you obtaining
certain examinations results. You may need to meet additional criteria for entry to some courses. These may include, for example, a satisfactory CRB check.
Campus
Services Admission staff will always be willing to continue
discussion of your needs so if you decide a course is not suitable
for you or if you fail to get the entry requirements for your
first choice, please feel free to talk to them.
